Brian Hugh Leighton
November 29, 1972 - December 31, 2009
Brian Hugh Leighton, 37, died December 31, 2009 at St Joseph's Hosptial. The lifelong resident of Savannah was formerly employed by Food Lion with twelve years of service. Mr. Leighton was an advocate for the disable having served with L.I.F.E., Inc. He was former president for the Savannah Council for the Blind where he actively served the blind community by participating on boards with the City of Savannah and through the State of Georgia.
Surviving are his wife, Valerie Leighton of Savannah; parents, Andrew and Barbara Leighton of Savannah; sisters, Brandy Leighton and Amy Dixon both of Savannah; brothers, Ronnie Dixon of Hilton Head Island, SC; Roger Dixon of Beaufort, SC and Chris Dixon of Savannah.
Visitation: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2010 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with Rev. Doug Cone officiating.
Remembrances: Savannah Council for the Blind.
